Air freight contributes significantly to global business for our European industry and plays an irreplaceable role during global crises, supply chain disruptions and humanitarian emergencies. A4E advocates for policies that recognise this strategic importance and support the long-term competitiveness of European air cargo operations, including through seamless and efficient processes, namely customs, security and full digitalisation of cargo documentation and processes.

The shift to fully digital air freight documentation is already underway. A4E supports the implementation of the EU's electronic freight transport information regulation (eFTI), and calls for this transition to be coordinated globally — reducing paperwork, speeding up operations, and improving reliability across borders.
