Taxes

Aviation taxes in Europe are some of the highest and most widespread globally — with adverse consequences for passengers and connectivity.
European airlines already operate under one of the most demanding regulatory cost environments in the world. National air travel taxes, on top of EU-level costs such as ETS compliance and other regulatory obligations drive up the cost of flying for passengers.
Avoidable taxes harm Europe's attractiveness as destination to travel and discourages passengers from choosing European airlines. Europe needs a stable tax environment that does not exacerbate an already heavy regulatory burden. The real-world impact of any air travel tax must be extensively assessed before being introduced.
