Europe needs a regulatory framework that focuses on what flyers care about most: getting them safely to their destination as swiftly as possible, reducing the impact of disruptions and getting flight schedules back on track. Excessively burdensome or rigid rules drive up the cost of flying for passengers and undermine the consumer's right to choose — ultimately making flying less affordable and less accessible for the very consumers these regulations aim to protect.  

Multimodal transport can also benefit consumers by making travel easier by combining different types of transport—such as flights, trains and buses—into a single journey. Efficient multimodal travel solutions that avoid overly prescriptive rules should be encouraged. Regulatory obligations imposed on Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) should not unintentionally extend to airlines that already offer multimodal travel solutions through partnerships.
